I opened the door to a morning chill
looks like another gray dreary day,
the colors seemed all washed out and dull,
even the birds had not much to say.

I turned around and went back in,
to my cozy house, warm and light,
choosing to bask in the quiet and peace,
love speaks to me from everything in sight

The pictures on the wall speak peace,
water scenes, so serene and cool,
and faintly in the distance I hear
water falling into our garden pool.

I suddenly knew it wasn't the weather,
nor the things the house holds inside,
it is love that is my ever present refuge,
joy and bliss hold the door open wide.

There is where I find you, my Lucian,
Knowing me, God knew just what to do,
and He placed me right inside your arms,
with a heart full of love for you.

How can I ever thank Jesus for this gift,
for pouring out such grace from above,
for filling my life with rainbows of joy,
and the sheer wonder of our love?
