Mercy

"I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the
knowledge of God more than burnt offerings."
Hosea 6:6


He held the golden key -
All the world would know...
He could walk that golden bridge ~
But No!
Mercy died at his command.

She held the power in her voice
To make it sweet and low;
She could banish all the tears ~
But No!
Is Mercy slain ~ again?

They could have stopped the chiding, teasing,
Be a beacon for the best,
But those children jeered and taunted,
Until tears came from the test.
Mercy crumbled in the playground sand.

They mocked Him and they tempted ~
They offered Him a way;
Just call the angels, make the sign,
But He held Mercy’s day.

Full of Mercy, He commanded,
Not a word to say for Him
But for us ~ Mercy extended ~
Filled the cup time and again!

Land of Mercy all inclusive,
Land of Splendor! Land of Light!
Land of Everlasting beauty where there
Never comes a night!

It was all obtained by Mercy,
Living Mercy of our Lord;
Praise to You Who gains the Glory for
The chosen splendid plan ~
Grace bestowed, in Love ~ in Mercy,
Offered by a nail~scarred hand!
