Paul passed through....
and came to Ephesus.
There he found some
disciples.
And he said to them,
"Did you receive the Holy Spirit
when you believed?
And they said,
No, we have never even heard
that there is a Holy Spirit."
[Acts 19:1-2]

"Holy Spirit?"

"Yes, child?"

"Am I supposed to be
talking to You? I'm not
really sure how this works."

"I understand, child."

"You know, being Jewish
and all; I used to think
that you didn't get the
Holy Spirit unless you
were Catholic. It was
sort'a like having a
Sam's Club card; there
were all sorts of benefits,
but you kind'a had ta' belong."

[SOLEMN NOD.]

"Yeah, but I'm not a kid
anymore. And, I truly
believe in the Lord Jesus.
But, I just haven't figured
YOU out."

"I know, My precious."

"So, like, am I supposed
to talk to YOU,
like...... when the
Lord Jesus is busy?
Is that how it works?"

[SMILE.]
"What about talking to
your Father,
child?"

"Oh, HIM? Hm, I'm
mad at Him, again."

"Ah, I see.
And, what is it, now?"

"Well, Holy Spirit,
see.....yesterday
I asked Him to
heal something,
and He DIDN'T."

"Some things take time,
child."

"Yeah....I guess. But, STILL:
He SHOULD've come when
I called Him."

"He is always here, My precious.
You do not have to call."

"Well, You know what
I'm talkin' about,
Holy Spirit. I mean,
all I did was ask
Him to make one little thing
better, and......"

"Perhaps, little one,
your Father is wiser
in ALL things.....?"

"Eh......yeah.
I don't know.
I suppose so.
All I know is that
I'm down HERE
suffering, and
He's up THERE,
listening to choral
music."

[LAUGH.]
"Your Father listens
to all music, child,
even your own."

"ME...! You have to
be kidding, Holy Spirit!
When I sing, the cows
outside'a San Antonio
moo mournfully!"

"No, My child.
[SMILE]
Your smallest prayer
is music to His ears."

[silence]
"Well, thank You,
Holy Spirit.
You're Sweet.
Although, I'm still
not really sure
Who You are.
But, that's okay.
I love You, anyway.
Tell the Father 'hi',
the next time You
see Him - oh, and
the Lord Jesus, too."

"I shall, child.
I shall."

Jesus said to them....
Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent Me,
even so I send you.
And when He had said this
He breathed on them,
and said....
Receive the Holy Spirit.
