I Don’t Believe In You

I said, “ I don’t believe in You.”
But He said, “Let me see,
I wonder if you’d be willing to
Do one small thing for me?
I’ll give you all the colors and
Provide a canvas wide;
You just paint a little rainbow
In the sky.”

“Or, I’ll let you earn the best degree
In super engineering,
Now, wire this up so someone deaf
Can receive their hearing.
Perhaps an eye would be your choice
To show you master all -
And that you have no need
To pray or heed God’s call.”

“Just name the simple part you wish
And line it up to work right -
To do the things that I’ve designed
And show Me that you’re so bright!
Or, maybe you could lay the courses
For a galaxy?
Set the spaces for the suns and
All their orbitry?”

“How would you go about the tilt
That brings us all the seasons?
Could you design and plan the course
And give Me all the reasons?”

“This might be the greatest test -
If you would like the choices -
Figure out why I love you
So much I send the voices
That speak to you within your heart
Telling of my love,
My deep desire is only you,
Safe, in Heaven above.”
