Maybe it’s because I am so dumb;
Maybe it’s because I’m so smart;
Maybe for the way I can be glum;
Maybe it’s because of my heart;

I know inside, He really loves me,
It’s the kind of love that will remain;
It’s the kind of love that helps me see
His heart’s to be my aim;

This is because I am so dumb;
This is because I’m so smart;
It’s for the way I can be glum;
This is because of my heart;

‘Cause of this love, I was born,
And how I was born again;
This is a fact He’ll never scorn,
As the skies pour down rain;

And so, one day, I got real bold,
And I asked Him why He loved me;
What He said took the cold;
What He said made me free;

“It’s just because you’re so dumb;
It’s just because you’re so smart;
It’s just the way you can be glum;
It’s just because of your heart;

“I love you so, because I made you;
I love you so, just as you are;
I love to make you bright and new;
Brighter than any sun or star;

“And if you need to, ask again;
Ask Me: ‘Why the love?’
Why do I love this man?
And I will say, ‘Because;’”
