I saw some rocks in the store the other day,
with 'gardeny' words printed there,
but the rocks weren't real, the words seemed forced,
not at all what I would have put there.

These 'rocks' all had the very same shape,
and all said 'bloom' or 'grow',
and somehow looking at rows of them,
they gave me nothing I wanted to know.

So I thought of how i would do that,
I'd use some rocks that God had made,
and on them I would print lasting words,
they would sink in my heart and never fade.

I would find a large rock, smooth and flat,
and on it I would write "Love"
for that is the greatest gift we receive from God,
poured out on us from heaven above.

Then I would find a collection of pointy rocks,
like miniature mountains made of stone,
and on all of them I would write the word 'peace'
for the promise Jesus made to never leave us alone.

Other rocks I would scatter about
small ones, like treasures waiting to be found,
they would say 'joy' and 'laughter' and 'bliss'
tucked under plants, here and there, all around.

Then I would bring you to this place,
where we could share all that is new,
and know that God has given all this to us,
and here, again, I will give my heart to you.

This little rock garden is a special place,
filled with wonder at all that is true,
and here I start and end each day,
telling how very much I LOVE YOU!!!
