Do you think that I cannot appeal to
My Father,
and He will at once send Me
more than twelve legions of angels?

"Lord Jesus, I don't understand."

"What, My child?"

"Well, I've heard that pretty
song about You calling all the angels -
and I don't understand it."

[SILENCE.]

"But, why DIDN'T You,
Lord Jesus? You didn't
even need legions of them;
angel Michael could have
showed up, and given
everybody a what-for."

"Yes, child.
But, he didn't."

"How come, Lord Jesus?
I think that would have
made a great ending, Lord!"

"Your generation watches
too many movies, My beloved."

"Well, yeah. I guess so.
I was brought up on John Wayne,
and Harrison Ford - 'real' heroes;
The Father should have sent some
21st century guys to make everybody
mincemeat, that night! Those
Pharisees wouldn't have known
what hit 'em!"

[SMILE.]
"My precious child, look at Me."

[Turns away.]
"What......
this part is horrible, Lord.
It is just so terrible,
and brutal. It keeps me
from finishing Your Book."

"But, I want you to, child.
It is very important."

"It makes me queasy, Lord,
.......and to think that perhaps,
some of my ancestors had
something to do with it.
They were actiing like animals!
Cavemen! Ech!"

" I forgave them, child."

"Well, still, I think You should
have called all those big
angels, down, at the last
minute............"

"But, I would not do that,
sweet child."

"Why, Lord Jesus? WHY?
Why NOT?

"Because, I was thinking of you."

Put your sword back into its place;
for all who take the sword will
perish by the sword.
Do you think that I cannot appeal
to My Father, and He will at once
send Me more than twelve
legions of angels?
But how then should the Scriptures
be fulfilled,
that it must be so?
[Matthew 26:52-56]
