“We each have our own truth;”
We have our personal “laws”;
The fact must reprove;
We’ve made ourselves gods;

And if one would say to you,
“My truth says you must die,”
Would you receive it as true,
And let him take your life;

Why does it seem we’ve missed the mark,
With the things we believe?
Is there higher truth to hark,
And, in truth, receive?

And if I find the True,
Just what would I see?
Would I see the truth of you,
And the truth of me?

Would we see a greater realm,
Reigned by a greater Truth;
Would another hold the helm,
With His hold as proof?

Do we each feel lonely,
When we take a pause?
Did my truth estrange me
From you; is it the cause?

If my truth separates me
From my fellow man,
Does fellowship escape me
With real Truth, the I Am?
