All flesh is grass,
A lovely fading flower;
It withers and it fades,
By the breath of Him;
Surely we are grass,
Lasting just an hour;
Fleeting pretty glades,
Thorns of lovely sin;

Yet His word abides;
Yes, it stands forever;
Holiness makes its choice,
And will not repent;
The word of God abides,
Holding all with power;
We now know His voice,
Knowing He won’t recant;

That which is flesh is flesh,
As spirit is always spirit;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for the Lord;
This great truth addressed;
We just can’t change it;
Please His heart, and convert;
Make Him high adored;

All the highs will be low,
The lows will be exalted;
Just draw Him nigh and know,
The curse He has halted;

These, my words of comfort,
From the mouth of God;
I speak to you; cry out to you;
May these words be heard.
