How desperately we seek refuge in this dark world! Driven by sorrow upon sorrow, disappointments, dead ends, death and dying, we grab at money, power, education, family/friends, and mind-deadening behaviors endlessly. And then by the inimitable grace of God, we come upon the blessed invitation:
"Come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Covers all the bases, doesn't it? It has always surprised me that there's not a crowd running to accept this marvelous Panacea for all our ills.

When followers of Jesus left Him because they thought His "sayings were too hard," He asked the disciples, "Will you also go away?" Then came Peter's irrefutable answer, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the Words of eternal life." John 6:66-68

Indeed, there is no other place to go.
