The Storms Rolled Through

The storms rolled through after dark,
bringing thunder, lightning and rain,
and this morning all the world was washed,
dust and pollen gone, all was clean again.

The air was fresh with that rainy smell,
the ground was still wet and clean,
the plants standing straight to receive this gift,
As if God had painted everything a new green.

It made me think of how I felt
when Jesus came into my heart that day,
when all my sin was washed by His forgiveness,
and in my life there dawned a new day.

The ground was carpeted so green with His word,
to be with me every step I took,
and flowers and trees had a brand new beauty,
and I had new eyes with which to look!

And into this world so fresh and clean,
God sent me my dream come true,
for on a spring day when the sun shone bright,
I first met and fell in love with you.

Now together we walk in the garden God gave us,
hand in hand we are two become one,
and oh what joy to follow in His steps,
and know that He has work for us needing to be done.

I would never have imagined that love could increase,
could become deeper and more wondrous every day,
but I am living in this dream - a gift from above,
a rare treasure that can't ever be taken away.

I will rejoice in each rainy day,
for the silver rain drops that fall on me like dew;
for that will always remind me of God's love,
and how He gave me my dreams when He gave me you!

Looks like we have very similar views about the blessing of a good rain. My daisies, wildflowers, houseplants, orange trees, and tomatoes are sure loving all the recent rain we've had. They've all stretched several inches. I've got my leaves stretched out for a long, quenching drink as well. :::smile:::
