As I went walking early today,
in and out of the sun's gold beams;
I looked in wonder at all the flowers,
a display put on for me, or so it seems.

There is the huge yard full of azaleas,
reds, and pinks, and fragile white fading now,
brightly blooming for as long as they can,
as long as God will allow.

The yard with narcissus blooms lining the walk,
a beautiful escort up to the door,
and scattered throughout the yard were more flowers,
what gentle beauty, who could ask for more?

And all along in the grass there shone,
bright dots of yellow, like drops of the sunlight.
tiny buttercups raising their faces to heaven,
how could you not smile just to see this sight?

All of this beauty is mine to see,
a display that each day is quite new,
and seen through the eyes of love,
it's an extravagant display of God's love so true.

I would pick a bouquet for you,
of yellow blooms, and pink and white,
and bring them all to put in your hands,
the colors of love, picked just for your sight.

Yellow for joy, white for hope,
some of the colors I would gather for you,
and lots of pink, a flower-measure of my love,
the wonder of my love deep and true.

What a joy to see all the flowers in spring,
the tokens of God's love ever new,
and they are mine to pick a sweet bouquet,
to show how much I LOVE YOU!
