You do not Have to be Important

Somewhere in the morning mists of old Israel it began. A little girl, alone, perhaps doing her chores. Suddenly she was surrounded by a Syrian army company. She turned, seeking a way to escape. But one little girl trying to elude a band of professionals? She was quickly, quietly and efficiently marched along with the other captures and scavenged valuables across the nations borders into enemy territory.
That was where she first met Naaman, top general and military strategist to the Syrian king himself. What he saw in her we do not know, but he took her home to be a servant to his wife. Apparently they had treated her well, because she saw that as great as his reputation, he was a leper. A powerful respected man with an incurable disease. And she wanted to help.
Do you want to hear the only words this girl said that made it into the scripture? they are (KJV), "And she said unto her mistress, ' would God my master 'were' with the prophet that 'is' in Samaria! (that is the northen kingdom of Israel) for he would recover him of his leprosy." II Kings 5:3
So Naamans' wife said to her husband something like- you can't guess what our little servant said to me this time!
But Naaman was so tired of his leprosy that he thought, what can it hurt? And told his king. And his king thought, even if it doesn't help, I can really mess with the king of Israel with this. So he sent a king-to-king note, "I have sent Naaman my servant to thee, so you may recover him of his leprosy."
And the king of Israel said to his advisors- you see how he is starting a fight with me? I can't cure leprosy.
So the prophet Elisha heard about it and cured Naaman. There are more interesting details in II Kings chapter 5 which I am sure you will enjoy re-reading, but look how much happened because a little girl really cared about those around her, when she could have been worrying about her own problems.
Oh, and one other thing. She knew that God really can do marvelous things.
