This soldier here is broken
This soldier, tired and worn
This fight, goes on forever
My uniform dirty and torn.
This soldier here is injured
This warrior feels all alone
My shield is here beside me
These red words are my cornerstone.
My sword is still a’ gleaming
Even though the sky is dark
Without one stain or blemish
It has been a light to my heart.
A Soldier needs some answers
To my many questions why.
When will all of these clouds clear
From this darkened and dreary sky?
I know this pain that I feel
All combatants do go through
Even when in this battle
Oh Lord, I do still look for You
