To Annette and Steve Peters in honor of their son Matthew who lost his life April 2007.
He will be forever missed.
We stand here mouths wide open
Staring still in disbelief
Not knowing when our hearts will
Again feel joy’s relief.
We now question God because
We don’t fully understand
Why He took you from us here
Just barley now a man.
We wonder when will this end
How many tears can we cry
How many raindrops will fall
‘til sun shines in our sky.
A life that was beginning
Is a life now left behind
We so much wanted to see
The mountains you would climb.
To see the man you would be
And the life that you would live
We see tears when we wanted
To see the love you’d give.
God knows the lives you have touched
And the lives you’re touching still
Only God knows reasons why
He knows the pain we feel.
We know you are safe and sound
You now will feel no more pain
We rejoice knowing one day
We will see you again.
Even though we will miss you
You are loved with all our might
You gave life all that you had
You fought a valiant fight.
Now go into God’s presence
Into His glorious grace
You've now reached the finish line
In life’s eternal race.
