Just a Prayer Away

God is showing me the lost-ness
Of this old sinful, darkened world
The putrid stench of satan
With all his fallen angels unfurled

With each new day I gaze upon
A soul so lost and dying
My heart is aching deep inside
For their hopelessness, no denying

Such bitterness and loneliness,
Black hearts He let’s me see
Wicked and demonic sin abounding
On desperate souls….in misery

I pray, Oh God please take it away
The burden’s too heavy to bear!
What can I do? For I am but one
In this sinful world full of care

Study my Word, I heard my Father say
You will see that Jesus was but One
One can make a difference
When you show them the heart of My Son

I have put this burden on your heart
I have opened your eyes to perceive
The fields are so ripe for harvest….but
Where are the laborers who claim to believe?

One at a time is all I want from you
I will give you the words you must say
I know you’re slow of speech….but
Call on Me to help you, I’m just a prayer away…..

"I'm just a prayer away." What comforting words. Today they called to find out what our plans would be, should there be a flood, as is a possiblility in our area. Well, we aren't planning to evacuate -- that is a pure impossibility in our circumstances (my husband a recent amputee, and confined to a wheelchair). But God is just a prayer away and we have confidence in Him. We are not at all worried.

Just today someone said to me, "The pen is more powerful than the sword." I suppose that's true, depending on how you look at it. "A soft word spoken..." This is quite an anointed, powerful piece of work, however "soft" it may be. Our kind Father's guidance is sure and, yes, just a prayer away.
