It appears that just before hitting a major breakthrough or attaining a new level, the challenges you face intensify. Crisis occurs at the curve of change. Whenever you make major changes in your life, crisis may occur. You need God’s wisdom and the right attitude to be able to handle crisis that occurs as a result of change or progress.
Once upon a time, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake “(LK 8:22). They had achieved their goals on one side of the lake and it was time to go over to the other side. It is important to know when your assignment is over in a place or to a people so that you can move over to the other side. There is more to life, to your job and your potentials than you have experienced. Do not imagine that you have seen it all or known it all. Sometimes geography affects the flow of information. You may have to go to a new place, meet new people, get new information and try out new ideas. However such changes are not always pleasant, they may be associated with new challenges.
“But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake, and they were filled with water and were in Jeopardy. And they came to Him, and awoke Him, saying, master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water and they ceased and there was a calm. And he said to them, “Where is your faith?” (LK 8:23-25).
While Jesus and His disciples were at their initial location everything was stable but when they ventured to go over to the other side, they had to face the storm. The storms of life come to everybody especially to those who are making progress. If you’re a non-achiever people will not mind you, but when you are a success, you become the center of attention. You get many enemies and critics by being a success. It is not easy but that’s better than being a nonentity. Isaac’s success in the land of the Philistines was Phenomenal that they were envious of him- Gen 26. Friend, you have to “go through to get to”. Men may insult, criticize, accuse you falsely or even attack you but God will deliver you.
When your impact attracts attention from the Kingdom of Satan, you become a target. The storm may come, the wind may blow but you’re not going under because the Master is with you in the boat. Jesus was sleeping when the wind was blowing and that is the attitude we should have towards problems. Don’t exaggerate what the devil is doing: let them not become the driving force of your life. “When you give Satan attention, he would give you direction “(B.A. Idahosa). Smith Wigglesworth once heard some noise at the downstair of his house, came down to see who was there and saw Satan. He said to Satan, “I didn’t even know it was you, I wouldn’t have wasted my time to come down” and he went back to sleep. No “binding and Loosing”.
You’re in charge. No storm of life can make you go under, you’re only going through to get to the next level and you will get there!
