Faith

Ideally, one begins life with the simple, trusting faith of a little child, goes on to probing the deeper things of God, philosophy, the sciences, life experiences, digging around in complicated areas (what men have had to say about this and that), on and on.

And finally, in declining years, he
ends up with just the simple, trusting faith with which he began as a child.

After all, Jesus said except one becomes as a little child, there will be no entry into the Kingdom.

It is said that an elderly preacher, product of several universities, recipient of many awards, was invited to address a freshman class with the answer to, "What is the most important thing you have learned in all of your years of study?"

He arose slowly, made his way to the podium, and his answer echoes down through the corridors of time:

"Jesus loves me; this I know
Because the Bible tells me so."

And then he sat down in the eloquent silence of the hushed auditorium.
