Knowing the time
Of their visitation,
The King, so sublime
Came for salvation;

Riding a colt,
The foal of a mule,
His will to unfold;
Fulfill what was due;

"Hosannah", they cried,
"Save now, our King;"
A week later, He died;
"Crucify," they'd sing;

The crowd that hailed Him,
Declaring Him king,
Later mocked in their sin
With curses to bring;

But He had come,
Completing the days
To face the sum
Of all their rage;

Cornerstone rejected,
Now chief Cornerstone;
His will directed
To make them His own.




Author's Note:
To me, Palm Sunday, was fulfillment of a promise shown to the Prophets Daniel and Zechariah. By the authorship of the Holy Spirit, we see in the Gospels what man does with his Maker when He comes.

Man may proclaim His Lordship, only to turn and seek to destroy Him, since He is not what they expected.

Yet the Lord was in control, for what had happened was what He wanted any way, using the will of man to accomplish His own.

Truly, Jesus is Lord over all...
