Hello, and welcome to this weeks verse of the week! There are actually a few verses I would like to write on this week, and next week I will be doing a verse on Passover, and in between one on the Ressurection.......but for tonight I think this really is a much needed message.

"He makes me to lie down in green pastures, He leads me besides quiet waters, he restores my soul."
Psalm 23:2-3

This is a very popular passage, but I believe this is something that the Lord really wants to speak to believers right now, because we are constantly doing so much for Him, and trying to please Him, and everyone else.....

I really believe the Lord wants to tell us to SLOW DOWN. Rest in Him, He wants to provide you with His rest, that perfect peace that is available to all who believe in Him, and call upon His name. The Lord asked me to define what I thought this verse meant to me, and I would also like to invite you to share what this verse means to you.

To me, it means lying beside a peaceful stream, and in a green pasture, wanting for nothing, worrying about nothing, and resting in Abba's care. Like a child. Children don't worry, they have nothing to worry about, they know their parents will take care of everything. We have a Father in Heaven who is perfect in love, perfect in His provision, and we can trust Him for EVERYTHING. All we need to do is lay our needs before Him, and rest in His promises.

HE LEADS US....
The Lord knows we would try to figure everything out by ourselves, so thats why the passage says that He leads us......He leads us away from our worries and fears and guides us to those quiet waters that calm our troubled thoughts. Let the calm waters restore and fill your soul, as you take in His goodness and His peace.

I would really recommend everyone taking some time this weekend, or whenever you are able to get away, if just for one hour, and rest in the Lord. Truly rest in Him, let Him calm your fears, speak quietly to your soul, and refresh and encourage you. The enemy tries to wear us down, and make us believe that we have to always be DOING something to make the Lord happy.....where the Lord just wants US. He wants to abide with us, and enjoy our company, as we enjoy His! He wants us to put aside all that worries us and weighs us down, and trust in Him, the God who created us, and has each day of our lives planned, even before time began. Put aside your plans, your troubles, and your expectations of yourself, and come to your Father, the very Father who created you and knows your needs, and wants to give you perfect rest. He has green pastures for you to lie besides, and quiet waters for you to take in, to give your soul the restoration and refreshment that we all so desperatly need.

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER-
LORD, I THANK YOU THAT YOU LEAD US TO YOUR PERFECT REST. YOU LOVE WHEN WE SERVE YOU, BUT YOU LOVE IT EVEN MORE WHEN WE JUST ABIDE AND REST IN YOUR PERFECT CARE. REMIND US, BETWEEN ALL THAT WE DO, TO TAKE TIME AND REST IN YOU. YOU ALONE CAN GIVE US THE SWEET PEACE TO RESTORE AND REFRESH OUR SOULS, SO WE MAY BE RENEWED AND STRENGTHENED BY YOU, SO WE MAY HEAR FROM YOU MORE CLEARLY, AND SEE MORE THE PLANS YOU HAVE FOR US. THANK YOU LORD,
