Encouragement
(Author's note: Please remember to use a
Jewish accent - full of humor and irony -
when reading my dialogues. The Lord calls
me 'child', 'precious', 'beloved', etc., but
only in that vein.)
Let not your hearts be troubled;
believe in God,
believe also in Me.
[John 14:1]

"LORD!"
[SILENCE.]
"I'M MAD AT YOU! SPEAK TO ME!
WHERE ARE YOU?!"
[SILENCE.]
"I'm SO disappointed in You, LORD!"
[SILENCE.]
"How do I know You even exist, huh?
What do I know: nothing!"
[SILENCE.]
"You're certainly not doing anything.
What are You doing up there, anyway?"
[SILENCE.]
"So? What? Huh?"
[SILENCE.]
"Yeah, yeah. You're not speaking to me.
You're only listening to all of the nice
praying, right now. Why should You listen
to ME, anyhow? Right, Lord?"
(Silence.)
"I'm tired, Lord. I'm sick and tired
of this ugly world of Yours. Well?
What do You have to say for Yourself, huh?"
[SILENCE.]
"Are You talking to me, or what?"
[SILENCE.]
"FORGET it. Just forget about it!
All I know about You is pretty music,
and lots of stuff I don't understand."
"What stuff is that, child?"
"Huh? Oh....eh, it's You. Well, eh.....
like, I don't understand most of Your
Book....eh....uh, Lord."
"Read It, child."
"Why? Why should I? It's doing anything
for ME! I'm not even sure that You exist!"
"Ah, I see."
(Silence.)
"Read it, My precious."
"Like WHAT? I don't understand any of THIS!
Yeah, yeah: here's something:
Therefore, do not be anxious about your life..
[Luke 12:22]
I disagree, Lord."
"Why, child?"
"Cuz'. No, because people aren't ravens,
Lord. We have a lot more issues to deal
with, than wondering about storehouses, and
barns, and stuff. I think it's nice that
You look after Your birds, Lord, but, You
know, humans are a lot more complicated."
"Hm. And, do I know that, blessed one?"
"I don't know. Hey, I'm just a tiny speck
on the Doorstep, Lord. Why ask me?"
[SMILE.]
"I am asking you, child."
"Yeah, I guess You know, Lord."
[Shrug.]
"Do you feel better, My daughter?"
"Yeah, I guess. Maybe, a little.
What should You care?"
[SMILE.]
"Read My Word, precious."
"All of It?"
[NOD.]
"Well, not tonight. I'll read a
couple lines, Lord. Then, I'll
go to sleep. Okay?"
[NOD.]
(Sigh.)
"Here's something.
Are You listening?"
[NOD.]
"Okay:
Jesus said them,
Come and have breakfast.
[John 21:12]"
[NOD.]
"I just like the scene, Lord,
though, it doesn't solve any
of my problems....."
"Think about it, My beloved."
"Alright, Lord. I will.
Goodnight."

If you continue in My Word....
you will know the truth,
and the truth will make you free.
[John 8:32]
