On our dates, there were no goodnight kisses
Despite starlit nights that beckoned us
Beckoned us to lose ourselves in a moment of passion
To take one taste of the sweet crescent moons
The sweet crescent moons adorning our faces
We knew the first taste might rightfully belong to someone else

The first taste of my moon to another man
The first taste of his to another woman
Not just the first but the only tastes
Might for each of us rightfully belong to another
So we only hugged and kissed on the cheek to show affection
Till one day, I stood by his side pure as winter’s blanket
In a white dress displaying the purity of our love

That day, we took our first taste of the sweet crescent moons
Knowing the sweetness was to be ours alone to enjoy
Till one left to slumber at the feet of our Beloved Savior
Till that fateful day of separation we will be the only ones

The only ones to know the taste and feel of each other’s moon
To have access to the secret hideaways of each other’s landscape
To see and touch the peaks and valleys of our sacred lands
To explore our landscapes and discover all of their majestic beauty
To know as we explore each other’s landscape we do not compare them to others

We do not long for the feel of another landscape or for another explorer
Another explorer from our past to touch and feel our landscapes
My landscape captivates my beloved and his me
This night, we look at each other and smile for we
Know that the white rose of our love was cultivated
Cultivated and fed in the soil of purity
