The Red Rose

The red rose has a special meaning all its own,
A special meaning that few have known.
This flower serves as a reminder of God’s Son,
And the price He paid for the sins of everyone.
The red petals are a sign of the blood He lost,
And the gift He paid with the ultimate cost.
The thorns are a reminder of the crown He wore,
As He went to the cross, knowing what was in store.
The stem serves as a reminder of the Vine,
And the gift God gave for all mankind.
So the next time someone gives a red rose to you,
Remember the deeper meaning behind it too.
