Ms Lena is married to one man
but living with another. Ms Lena
looks down on Niki living a carefree
lifestyle.

Soooo Perfect!

Sister Millie goes to church and
never misses a meeting. She is always
looking like money with every hair in place
and expensive outfits. Oh, let's not forget
her pretty nails. Sister Bessie goes to the
same church. She praises God with all of
her heart but sister Millie would never
invite sister Bessie to Sunday dinner
because her clothes are old but clean.

Soooo Perfect!

Reverend Willie preaches on Sunday. He
makes love with sister Lela on Monday and
sister Annie on Thursday. He rest on Saturday.

Soooo Perfect!

We must constantly seek God's face.
We must realize that we are nothing
if we choose not to serve God. Jesus
is the only way. Jesus is the only
one that is Perfect!

Definitely an "ouch" poem Cheryl. The contrasts were very striking but that stanza about the Reverend was probably the strongest point of all. You're quite right, everyone can look "so perfect" but inside be far from it. The regular news of fallen "superstar" christians makes that point fairly obvious. Good, strong poem, written in an excellent way. With love, Deb

Yes, I agree. We must realize that there but for the grace of God go I. If we stray from walking humbly in His light, we too shall fall.

Great work here! I like the compare/contrast. Good closing stanza.
