Make His Praise Glorious

One of the oldest tricks of the enemy is to separate believers from resting in the goodness of God. Through worry instead of worship he intends to deprive us of our greatest instrument, our praise. There in our broken places the enemy lurks whispering all of our mistakes, hurts, and disappointments; so quick to become reminiscent of old and crippling our ability to feel secure in our praise. Overcoming the feelings of defeat and uncertainty where that enemy has placed doubt is a challenge that may very well be ever before us. What stands to always serve as the common denominator to recovery from our fallen spirit is the practice of praise. We must seek to enter into God’s presence with a purposeful heart; a heart to make His praise glorious!

The scripture comes to mind, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).” But praise God that “where sin did abound, GRACE did much more abound (Romans 5:20).” I know that without a doubt grace had to abound the more because I have not always been covered by the precious blood of the lamb. For that alone I will praise Him with all fullness believing as the songwriter says, what could wash away my sins- nothing but the blood of Jesus. What could make me whole again- nothing but the blood of Jesus!

Only when we began to acknowledge that God is worthy of our celebration and worthy of our adoration can we enter into a mind of worship; praising God simply for who He is, and began to rejoice in all the benefits He has bestowed on man. Scripture says, “What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet (Psalm 8:4-6):”

Knowing that we were made for praise is essential in realizing why the enemy seeks to displace us with his traps, causing the believer to forfeit operating in the praise that lives within us, while disconnecting us from the blessings linked to our praise offering. Like fire shut up in our bones, it becomes preeminent that we make His praise glorious! Despite outward conditions, circumstances, and personal hang ups, God is worthy. He never changes, and praise is linked to fact alone. Isn’t it good to know that praise is not based on how you feel? It teaches us to look as David did when he said, “I will bless the Lord at all times his praises shall continually be in my mouth (Psalm 34:1).”

So today, “I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvelous works (Psalm 9:1).” Glorious praise is our awesome opportunity to express love to the One who showed the most perfect love. For He is, “Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6)” He is Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Nissi, and Jehovah Shalom. He is all that we need and everything we could ever hope for; He is all that we are and all that we could ever hope to be. To the Most High God, I offer today my heartfelt praise. Purposing always to make His praise glorious!
