Faith
They tried to push me down.
You helped me get up.
They called me every name in the book.
You called me Your child.
They tried to pull me into their fights and arguments; they lied to me.
You pulled me back and told me the truth.
They hurt me.
You heal me.
They hate me.
You love me.
For everything I have experienced or will experience, You faced first.
Father, teach me to be an encouragement and not a discouragement. Teach me how to remain in You, and not be pulled apart by all the demands I face. I want to be the builder, not the destroyer. Show me how to follow your example, though I would naturally go another way.
You did it; I want to do it too.
Jesus, teach me to be like You.
