Prophecy

The third angel blew his trumpet,
and a great star fell from Heaven,
blazing like a torch, and it fell
on a third of the rivers,
and on fountains of water.

"Lord?"

"Yes, child?"

"What's going on with Your new asteroid,
Lord?"

"My asteroids are not new, child."

"Well, You know what I mean;
it's supposed to hit in about 30 years.
They've even named it: Apophis."

"Apophis."

"Yes, Lord. I guess it's Greek
for one of those handsome gods."

(SILENCE.)

"Oops! We're not talking about You,
Lord. Well, I mean not that You're
not handsome, Lord! You.....You
know what I mean."

"Of course, child."

"But, You know, those ancient
Greeks believed that just about
everything had a god;
somehow, they were all handsome,
and all got into fights with each other."

"I know, child."

"Well, what about it, Lord?
Is this going to be like a big thing?
Should we all be upset about it?"

"Who is in control of the universe,
daughter?"

"Well, hopefully not the United Nations,
Lord. Right now, folks are trying to
get those guys to do something about
the asteroid. I've been on this earth over
50 years, and I've never seen those
bumblings do anything constructive. I'm
surprised they can figure out where the
coke machine is. Who pays those fellas,
anyway?"

[SMILE.]

"You are, Lord. You are in control
of the universe! You bet!"

"Do you need to fear, child?"

"Well yeah, Lord. All of us are
afraid. Even the ones who say they
aren't, are too."

"Ah, I see.
Whom do you trust, daughter?"

"Well, I guess I trust YOU, Lord.
But, I still know that lots of times
You're going to do things that I
won't like."

"Read My Word, child."

"Uh, okay; I know there's something
in here about everything good comes
from the Lord. Let's see; it's
in Timothy, but I can't find that part."

"Seek, child."

"I am, Lord! Here's Romans, Corinthians....
is it before Romans?"

"Keep looking, child. I will wait."

"Okay: Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians,
Colossians, Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians
.....oh, here it is! Here it is:

For everything created by God is good.
[1 Timothy 4:4]

I don't think that's it, Lord. I know
there's something about everything
eventually coming to the good,
if You will it. It's something like that."

"Read My Word, child."

"Yes, Lord! I promise! I will!"

[NOD.]

"Oh, and Lord?"

"What is it, My beloved."

"Will You promise to do something
about that Apophistoid, before
those U.N. guys mess everything up?"

"Trust Me, child.
Trust Me."

Immediately after the tribulation of those days,
the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light,
and the stars will fall from Heaven,
and the powers of the heavens will be shaken,
then will appear the sign of the Son of man in Heaven....
