her salvation. Now, I feel
very foolish."

and coldly rebuffed, Lord Jesus."

"I know, child."

"I feel like an idiot, now.
I should have kept my
feelings about You,
to myself."

"Ah, I see."

"I think it is better that way."

"For whom, child?"

"Well, for everybody,
Lord Jesus."

(SILENCE.)

"Okay. It's better
for me, Lord Jesus."

"Go on, child."

"Well, I really dislike
feeling foolish, Lord Jesus.
I've, eh.......felt that way,
pretty often in my life,
I'm afraid."

"Yes, child. You are afraid,
aren't you?"

"Yes, Lord Jesus. I am afraid."

"Tell Me, child."

"I'm afraid of forever
looking foolish, that's all."

"Forever?"

"Well, Lord Jesus, I don't
really mean FOREVER.
That's just an expression."

"Forever is a long time, child."

"Well, yeah. You're right about
that. Why? What was it I said?"

"Feeling foolish is human, child."

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Forever: that is another matter."

"Do You mean, living forever.....
without You, Lord Jesus?"

"Read My Word, child."

"Yes, Lord Jesus:

Repent, for the Kingdom of
Heaven is at hand.

"Continue, precious."

"Here is Your next Word,
Lord Jesus:

Follow Me, and I will
make you fishers of men.

I'm sorry, Lord Jesus.
I just can't do what
You ask of me. I'm,
You know......different."

I just told the Father,
the other day, that I
could never get sassy with
You. I can't even keep that
promise for long. I'm a
mopey mess."

being Jewish and all.
The couple times I've
tried to witness to my
brethren, it's been.....
well, let's just say it
was a dismal failure.
I just don't want to
go there, again."

"Go where, child?"

"Go, You know, to that
place of looking foolish,
Lord Jesus."

"Read My Word, child."

"Okay. I know there's some
part about us not being promised
all smooth highways, or something.
