For the Troops

Lord, I ask You to gently hold
The families of our troops
Chaos often encircles them
And they need some time to re-group

Stresses untold are carried
Burdens of the heart not shared
Lord, give them peace of mind
And let them know You care

Help us be sensitive too
Of needs that we may find
Lord, there are so many
So many needs of various kinds

Our soldiers sacrifice so much
To fight for freedom’s land
May we never take it for granted
May we always reach out our hand

We may never know the depth
Of what our soldiers go through
But may we always share the love
That so freely comes from You

Our prayers for our soldiers
And the families they leave behind
Are so often a precious gift
That helps to ease their minds

So hold them, Lord of Lords
And protect them one and all
Until they all come home again
After answering Freedom’s call
