O, Lord, my heart is silent;
And I have stilled it,
That I might walk in You;

The raging waters of my spirit
I have directed away from my will;

I am reminded of the goodness of Your Spirit,
And all that You intend for me;
While I may groan over all that comes my way,
Your lovingkindness prevails;

My heart is stilled and silent;
Thus my day is an on-going prayer,
With every heartbeat an “Amen!”

My day is one of holy elation,
And eternal joy;
While nothing has gone my way,
It has gone Yours, and I am made glad;

The sun sets; the moon waxes,
And I hear a holy voice,

“I say again; you are My David;
And I have a work for you;

“I know whom I have made,
And whom I made, I love;
Your passion is My instrument,
And what is God-created,
Must be God-controlled;

“I know whom I have commanded,
And what I command, I love;
My word is your passion’s body,
The body of a Dove;
What is commanded,
Must be God-empowered;
Spoken by My Spirit;

“Be My David;
Express with your passion
What I command;
While My word is the Dove’s body,
Your passion will be My wings.”
