Seminole Prayer


O loving and patient God.
Let we men honor our grandmothers, mothers, wives, sisters and daughters.
Help us to treat our wives with kindness, dignity and respect,
For she is my companion and friend on my path through life.
Lord look after her and give her good health.
God give me the ability to comfort her in her difficult times, cheer her in periods of sadness, speak well of her when she does me wrong.
God let me be respectful of all women as they are my sisters.
Help me to influence other men to treat all women respectfully and with kindness as I would want You, O Lord, to treat me.

O God, make me an instrument of kindness to my children.
Let me never nag or abuse my children as they were given to me out of the love I have for their mother and are her reflection.
God give me the ability to teach them in a Godly manner all that is perfect and good; prayerfully and humbly.

O God make me an instrument of your kindness and love to all.
Let me never turn down the cries of a child in need of comfort and love.
Let me never turn down the pleas of a single mother or widow for assistance or help.
Let me never turn down the hurting and angry men who just need understanding and Your life saving Word.
Let me never turn down the old, the poor and strangers for they are my sister and brothers who deserve my respect, love and help.

O God never let me forget that You should get all of the glory.
For I deserve nothing for I have sinned against You daily in word and deed
And have no right to glory.

These things I humbly and prayerfully ask. Amen.
