"Jesus" I whispered
as I knelt to pray.
I just called out His name
nothing else did I say.

As I mentioned the name Jesus
it drew Him very near.
Because there's power in His name
that will cast out all fear.

"Jesus" I whispered
during the darkness of the night.
I felt His peace enfolding me
and I clinged with all my might.

When I called the name Jesus
my prayer ascended to the throne.
Because the precious name Jesus
can calm any storm.

"Jesus" I whispered
when I couldn't see my way.
Calling His name becomes a prayer
when nothing else you can say.

The sweet name of Jesus
brought comfort and relief.
He quieted me with His love
and to my heart He spoke peace.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
the name above all names.
It's the shortest prayer one can pray
but He'll answer just the same.
