There was no decorations
and no Christmas tree with lights.
No bells, wreaths or garland
it was a blessed holy night.

The stable became a sacred place
and the cattle gave up their stalls,
for this sweet miracle baby
who lay there still and small.

Wise men traveled from a distance
as they followed a special star.
And shepherds rushed from the field
when the news came from afar.

The angels brought the word
that God had sent His Son.
Oh, what a blessed night it was
when our dear Savior was borne.

Prophecy was being fulfilled
and God had worked His plan.
The Word became flesh that night
because of God’s love for man.

God used Mary and Joseph
to bring forth His begotten Son.
Christ is God’s gift to the world
and it is offered to everyone.
