When your presence, soft and tender
So embraced me in the night
When the calmness of your shadow
Reassured me of your wonder
Stirring up so deep within me
Understanding, pure delight

When your power, strong and constant
So surrounded me with grace
When your angels, pure and holy
Gathered round me offering shelter
Rousing warmth, so safe so loyal
By the brightness of your face
