Flying high above a tropical storm.

A continent of clouds,
complete with mountains
shining bright with sunlight
that touches not the Earth
far below.

Pearl white.
Past the continent.
To see the oceans of land
below
like through clear water.

The plane leaps
high into the air above the clouds
of the dying hurricane.
Shadow of the plane on the clouds
painted by the setting sun
and the paintbrush in
God’s hand.

A circular rainbow
like a sundog
follows the flight of the plane,
shining and reflecting the light.

The orange ball of the sun creates islands
of pink coral below with
light green shadows.

Stewardess, flight attendant,
the waitress Mabel of the air
Gum chewing with
red blonde dyed hair
and
road house accent

Peels me from the window
With an offer of a cold drink,
I grab my camera
and shoot
the magnificent world outside.
