No Gravity

"And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass while he blessed them. he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. And they worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:" Luke 24:50-52

What an event to behold! The Lord Jesus returning to the heaven from whence he came. When he arrived he confined himself to the limitations of the human body, so that he could truly identify with those he came to save. "For he was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin". (Hebrews 14:15) How restraining the laws of nature must have been upon the body of Christ. He felt the weight of gravity pulling him ever earthward. There were certain boundaries he would not push aside because he was truly Man and truly God, existing for a time in a body.
But when he returned to the disciples after his work of redemption on man's behalf, he once again entered into the liberty of his boundless existence. The earth, that sought to bind him, had lost what feeble power it had, the laws of gravity were rendered powerless by the One who put them in place. And in yet another display of Lordship his precious nail-pierced feet lifted from the dust on which he had trod during his earthly sojourn and with a blessing on his lips he returned to his Father and his home.
