“Lord, have mercy” I prayed,
it was just a three word prayer.
Because mercy is my greatest need
when I’m burden down with care.

“Lord, have mercy” I prayed
when there was no other words.
But the Father saw my need
and my short prayer was heard.

“Lord, have mercy” I prayed
when I faced life’s raging storm.
God heard my plea for mercy
and kept me safe from harm.

“Lord, have mercy” I prayed
when my heart ached with pain.
God heard my honest cry
when I called the Father’s name.

“Lord, have mercy” is a plea for help.
It's a very sincere prayer.
When it is prayed from the heart
God’s mercy is always there.
