Winter in Texas?

Tonight all of Texas is becoming a winter wonderland
Icy winds and rain blowing from God’s mighty hand

It’s beginning to feel like Christmas, the sweet Noel
Folks scurrying to and fro to get to where they dwell

Just how long the cold will last, well it’s anyone’s guess
Tomorrow morning’s traffic I’m sure will be a mess

Weatherman’s predicting bridges and roads glazed of ice
The best thing to do is stay at home, is his wise advice

God didn’t create us Texans to drive on slippery ice
That’s what the man was saying, but he was being nice!

Ice in Texas does sound strange. But we, here in SW British Columbia have had an unusual dump of snow too. So your little poem was timely. Thanks.

Julia, try to stay warm and dry. Don't get onto the icy roads if not necessary. We have some cold weather headed our way. It is predicted to get into the 20's for the second time in this autumn. Strange isn't it?
