He Gave me Life

Tis the season of Thanksgiving
For many blessings from above
Our Lord showers on His children
From His wondrous heart of love

I’m thankful for my parents
Who taught me about the Lord
They knew I’d never make it
Without the shield and the sword

I’m thankful for my husband
Who works hard every day
I’m thankful for my children
Their protection I daily pray

I’m thankful for my grandchildren
Who can melt me down to butter
With just a little hug from them
Puts Nana’s heart all in a flutter

I’m thankful for my church
Brothers and sisters I do so love!
We are all kindred spirits
In our heavenly Father above

I’m thankful for this country
For the soldiers who have died
So we could have the freedoms
That many countries are denied

The thing that I’m most thankful for
Is the gift of the Lord Jesus Christ
Who shed His blood on Calvary
To give me everlasting life.

Thanks be to God!
He gave me life……
