Hold fast the pain, and carry so;
Name the Name, and don’t let go;
Take the One to carry through;
Take the Son Who will take you;

Take the flame, and pass it on;
Confess the reign of God’s Son
Hold Him high, within your heart;
He draws you nigh, and will not part;

This is your cross; can’t you see it?
Your life you’ve lost to gain His Spirit;
Own the King, and own Him well;
His praises sing, for loss of hell;
He took you quick, washed away leaven;
With grace, He picked, to have you in heaven;
Not having Him would be your destruction,
For by the Law sin would lead to perdition;

Yet by His love that brought you about,
He came from above to die with a shout,
Proclaiming in victory, this: “It is finished!”,
Saving you and me, and remains undiminished;

So if you know Him, give Him His due;
If you’re saved from sin, declare Him as true;
If you don’t know Him, come to this Lord,
Rise from the din, proclaim Him adored;
All you will see, He receives unconstrained,
And sets you free; your soul's retained;

This is the love of the Lord Jesus:
He makes borne above, and thus He receives us;
He gave us His name, that we might have Him,
To know His fame, forgetting our sin;
He gives us His power, to do His will;
Truth for this hour, the lie we thus kill;
And when life ends, we’ll be found so,
What strife has rend, His glory will show,
That He’s in us, as His word states;
Glory from dust, for we are His mates;

For now, that pain you feel declares
Your home, that Name of One Who cares,
Is not here but where you long;
To you, He’s dear; where you belong;
This life’s a mist, but there’s everlasting;
And you’re grace-kissed, from sin you’re fasting;
And so, one day, you’ll be with Jesus;
See Whom you pray, just as He sees us.
