Yeah you checked in late
With your eyes glazed over
An’ tipped the bellhop
Just to get lost
Locked down your room
With the Do Not Disturb
Sign nailed to the
Outside knob
You’ve come to dry out
Don’t Inquire Within
If you have a mind for what’s
Good for your health
It’s the usual faire
Some bottles to forget
A pack of smokes and a gun
If it gets ugly
You broke the bulb
Might as well get it done
And you won’t be needing
The light anyway
Go on and get to it
With the wrack and the heaves
And the screams and the cries
And the shaking
She’s up and she’s gone
That’s all there is to it
Now you got to get her
Out of your system
So the long nights await
Like a death in the desert
‘Til your soul’s shriveled up
On your bed
They’ll find you someday
God help them who do
But for now oblivion
Awaits
