(dedicated to my friend, Mr. Michael Tummillo)
There is the Christian Faith of all denominations
including the Catholic Christianity.
There are the Jehovah Witnesses, Mormonism,
the Unification Church, Christian Science,
Unity School of Christianity, Scientology,
Wicca, New Age, Islam, Nation of Islam,
Baha'i World Faith, Judaism, Hinduism,
Hare Krishna, Transcendental Meditation,
Buddhism, and etc.
I was told there are over 200 various religions (+)
all over the world. AND we each think we are
the ONE TRUE RELIGION.
"You are wrong ... I am right."
"I will fight for my beliefs with all my might."
ME??? Why do I believe like I do?
Because it's all I ever knew.
My country gave us our particular beliefs.
At my mother's feet was my learning seat.
Why do I believe like I do?
Because it's all I ever knew.
My sisters, brothers, cousins, uncles,
aunts, grandparents all believe the same
... and now me.
My religion must hold wisdom's key.
ME??? I had freedom.
And I learned and I learned and I learned.
I went from one religion to the other.
Nothing seemed to quench my thirst.
Now I am an atheist and still I am as
unhappy as can be. For you see,
everybody criticizes the other.
Religion came out of my ears the way
I was raised by father and mother.
Enough! I had my fill.
It's all a fairytale. Each and every one.
When all is said and done.
Nothing is true and that's why I am blue.
I had my fill then I turned
to each and every pill.
And now YOU again came my way.
YOU cross my mind every single day.
YOU walked this earth as do I.
They say YOU had to die for all
the sins of the world.
I killed YOU, too. ME?
I'm so clumsy, I'm so frail,
I am very stupid.
I don't know what to believe.
The more you learn, the less you really know.
But YOU cross my mind every single day.
The Holy Bible wants to make me a disciple.
What should I ever do?
If I start to believe, I may be wrong.
My heart's mouth tries to sing a song ...
"Father King sent His little Son, Jesus, to earth.
Never has one life changed so many.
His birth saved a sinner like me.
His life could fill thousands and thousands of books.
He suffered excruciatingly, died on the cross,
and arose on the third day.
He sits at the Father's right Hand.
He sees the visible and the invisible.
He will come again in glory to judge
the living and the dead and of His Kingdom
there will be no end."
Every part of me wants to believe,
but perhaps the world will laugh at me.
I have the rest of my life
to make my choice, don't I??? No!
I've heard them say that tomorrow is
not assured to anyone.
No one is too young to die.
You are never too sick to live,
and never too well to die.
I'VE MADE MY DECISION.
I may receive a lot of derision.
But I must think of Eternity
and where I want to be.
The awful things I've heard tell
about hell have put me on my knees.
Jesus, please save a sinner like me.
I give YOU my life.
Use me to glorify YOUR HOLY NAME.
I shall never be the same.
Jesus, I believe YOU are God's Holy Son,
when all is said and done.
I accept YOU as my Lord, Savior, and King.
"HOW GREAT THOU ART" over and over and over
I, to everyone, shall forever sing.
"For God so loved the world
that He gave His Only Begotten Son,
that whoever believeth in Him shall
not perish, but have everlasting life."
(John 3:16)
ALLELUIA! AMEN!
