Those Pesky Trials and Tribulations

Life is hard. That much seems to be obvious. Life is confusing, confounding, and contradictory. Those things are a given most days. But life can be so----beautiful. Wondrous. Joyous. I can't really find the right word for those parts of life that seem to be so---right somehow.

"Into each life a little rain must fall". Were truer words ever spoken? If there is no rain, there can be no sunlight after. If there is no sorrow, how would you know joy? If tears never spill out of your eyes and flow down your cheeks, how would you know the feeling of a smile? A smile that comes from deep down inside your soul and is expressed in your eyes? On your lips?

God granted us life--all of it. All the parts of it that make up a life. We're very good at taking the fact of our existence for granted. For His reasons, we live now, among each other.

When those trials and tribulations rear up and threaten to overtake you, remember that you are not alone. First-God goes with you. Second--you have all of us to help see you through. And at some point in time, you will be there to see us through. Two are better than one. Imagine hundreds, even thousands, of people standing behind you as you face your giants.

Most of us will never share, really share, the torment and pain we carry with us. But we know that behind every face is a story, a sorrow, a heavy load being carried.

Think about that when you encounter people. All people. Look past the grouchiness, the loudness, the rudeness. Look past the smile that doesn't seem to reach the eyes.

Look at the people. They're just like you. And remember to pray earnestly for one another all the time, especially when you know you're sharing some of the same burdens.

Sister - I love this article! As I read through it 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 came to mind: All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too. (from the Message)!

Your article is a great reminder for us as a body - every face has a story - so many are hurting and they do not know God as a comforter! What an opportunity we have, huh?!?! Thank you for your obedience in writing and sharing this with us! God bless, Jounda
