The man wanted to go with Jesus, but Jesus had a bigger plan! He wanted him to tell the Good News! He wanted the news of mercy spread. The same is true today! When the Master has touched us, He wants us to tell it! He wants those around us to know of His goodness!

So often we get comfortable in our groups! Our churches are filled with people who know about Gods mercy and understand where we’ve come from. Yet, it is not enough to hide behind the church house doors! Singing in the choir is a great opportunity and attending a wonderful church is an awesome thing now days, but it can’t stop there! We can have the best worship team in town, but what are we doing when we walk out from underneath the well-orchestrated melodies and into our chaotic Monday through Friday life?

When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17 KJV)

We would like nothing more than to get in the boat with Jesus and ride off into the sunset but after we have been touched – after we have personally experienced God’s mercy - we must go back to our friends and family, our neighbors and co-workers, the people in our everyday life and let them know what Jesus has done for us and in us!

We shouldn’t contain it! We can’t put it in a bottle! We mustn’t display it in a beautiful case! If we do these things we are missing an important factor! When people around you see changes in your life – when they notice a peace when you should be falling a part – when they see love pouring out when you should be hateful – and they ask (and trust me they will ask) you will then be able to say, I was touched by the Master! He changed my life! He delivered me! He healed me! I am a new creature! The praises will become automatic!

O, Jesus Master and Healer! Your mercy and compassion is overwhelming! You touched our lives in profound ways, and sometimes Lord we just want to stay in our comfort zones! We want to remain where people know us and love us and quite frankly we’d just like to be in the boat with you. Help us Lord to proclaim the good news – not just to the choir or the congregation in attendance – but Lord to those who don’t know! To those around us who are searching for peace! Those in our everyday life who are broken from the weight of the world! Help us Lord to not hide behind the church doors – help us to not be ashamed of your love and goodness! Help us Lord to tell it and live it and share it with those who cross our paths today! In Your Awesome Name, AMEN!
