All Roads Lead Where?

When I was young my Mom used to say, “I wonder where that road goes?” and then---she would take off and find out and we would be gone for hours!!!

With life as hectic as it is now, we don’t have the luxury of doing that because there are always time deadlines, places to be etc. so—we keep on wondering until we can accomplish that ride “down the road” at a later date.

The road can lead to something awful or something great depending on your choices. One might end on a dead-end road, while another leads to a field of flowers, and yet another never ends and just goes on and on through the countryside.

The road leads where? In God’s book – the Bible – it says in Matthew 7:13+14 “Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction and many enter through it, but small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life but few find it.

Do we procrastinate in telling others about God? Do we pace and act nervous when someone says something we don’t quite agree with and yet we are intimidated to speak up? Be careful---that wide gate awaits!

Choices are many, but we need to remember to make the wise and best choice before going through that gate and leading ourselves and yes, perhaps even someone else, down that road with us.

When we face eternal life, we will find out if our choices have been good or poor. In this case God speaks to us to be careful and not follow every road we see because some lead to destruction. In other cases, we must explore to find out and perhaps we can give advice to someone else, not to travel there.

Where does the road lead? If we believe God is our life, strength and salvation, we will also know that the road leads to “life” with Jesus at the end of this weary road we are traveling. The wrong road can lead us straight to unwise decisions and uncertainty. Be careful, make wise choices and before you attempt the road ahead that you have passed many times, and before you explore, pray and ask God to direct you. We want to avoid those stops in life that take our attention off God.

God is in our lives each and every day. Be strong, take courage and know He is there to be our guide and friend, confident in His love. May you choose the “right” road and know God loves you. God bless you
