"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart"-Psalm 37:4. You know what struck me about this little verse today? I am delighted in the Lord. I truly am. I've seen much written on this verse in relation to the second part of it, but today it struck me that if you are truly delighted in the Lord, what else do you really need? What other desire could possibly mean more than this? Thank you, Jesus. I can think of a lot I would like to have, stuff I can only dream about having, but You have already given me the most important desire, and fulfilled it for me too! I want more of You!

I don't think any of us who have tasted the joy that comes from knowing Jesus can actually stray too far from our appointed paths. We may go a bit close to the edges but to veer totally off the path? Can we really? In any life, there is always going to be room for improvement. But we were given a promise when Jesus left that He would send One to us, and He did. The people around you may call this your conscience, but you and I know that it is the Holy Spirit. "Who has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee". 2 Corinthians 1:22. A guarantee from God that His hand is upon us. An actual Spirit within guiding us along. We can choose to ignore that voice, or we can accept the reproval, the correction, and grow stronger with each passing day. I say--let's all grow stronger!

We are no longer servants in the Kingdom. We are friends because Jesus has told us all the things He heard from God. Jesus says we didn't choose Him--He choose us! Wow! It's odd how the verses you read over and over again can sometimes just jump right up and you see them more clearly than ever before! Thank you, Jesus, for choosing me. Thank you for giving me the knowledge that all I have to do is turn my face in Your direction, and there You are! Anytime, anywhere! This thought nearly brings me to tears. And You go on to tell all of us that You will never leave us or forsake us.

Jesus, my prayer for today is one of thankfulness. Thank you for being my Friend, my fulfillment, my Guardian, and my constant Companion. Thank you for the book You have given to remind me that you are always near. Thank You for the example that You have set for me to follow. Thank you for the love and joy you have given me.

I can only say, amen and amen.
