THE VICTORY THAT LIES AHEAD
It was on a mountain I stood
Empty handed and disappointed at myself
For not working hard enough
Accomplishing more for my God
I stood worried of what I would tell my Jesus
I stood there surely awaiting to meet my King
A fire came; I surely thought hell was my destiny
A storm came; was God enraged with me, I assumed
Thunder came; the roaring made me hide for I was terrified.
The entrance of my Lord shook the heavens above
Shook the earth underneath from within
Nature and everything He had created reacted in power,
I heard footsteps of glory and a still yet powerful voice called out for me.
I was among the Holy of Hollies and my flesh weakened,
The King of Glory was glowing with love, power and wisdom
Yet, He was looking for me for I had hidden.
“Ruhamah, where are you? Come let me see you!
My beloved, come dance with me! The victory is yours!” Jesus called out.”
I am trying Lord but my flesh is weak,
My flesh is keeping me from coming to you.
“Be strong and courageous; remember the flesh was crucified on the cross,
Your battle against the flesh has already been won!
Stand up! O Daughter of Zion let me robe you with strength!”
I began to crawl to him, I heard Him say, “Come!”
I stood trying to walk, I soon fell, and He encouraged, “Come!”
“Do not focus on your weakness, look at me, and focus on me,
I will make your path straight, and I will fasten your knees, just Come!”
I quickly let go of the fear of falling again
I looked to Him, feeling like I was risking everything,
I stood, I began to walk, and I stumbled there and here,
I fixed my eyes on Him, on his strength, power and wisdom,
I felt my knees getting stronger; I grew to love Him,
I ran to Him, with joy in my heart and grief for those who do not know Him.
Father, look I have nothing for you,
My hands are empty; I am so disappointed in me,
You gave me the strength to run the race, but where is my prize?
The world hated me, at times things did not work out,
I watched people falsely swear by your name,
I watched people spit on your truth,
It broke my heart Lord.
He smiled and wiped my tears away, and then He said:
“Do you not remember that your faith is most required?’
What you think are your good works, to me they are nothing but filthy rags!
I am pleased with you, my beloved!
You look like me now, do you not see?
The world hated me too they crucified me,
They killed my children for my name,
Surely, you must realize that they had to hate you too,
I lived in you, and the world saw that.
Your prize awaits my good and faithful servant!
Here is the crown of life,
I will write my Fathers name on your Head,
I will let you eat from the tree of life,
You will never experience the second death,
You will eat hidden manna that God kept for those who love him,
You will sit with me on the throne, beside the Almighty,
You will rule with me, You will rule over the nations of the world
They will all be at your footstool.
That is the prize, my love!
Take heart for you are comforted!
Come, let us go and crown you with glory!
Well, Done!”
