Used to think that I was wise
Righteous according to mine own eyes
Deceived by this web of lies
I could barely see the light of Christ

Till I beheld His glory
His glorious light in all its might
Blinded by His pure and holy light
Shining like the sun in all its might

I felt my own righteousness fall as scales
Against the light of Christ, all else began to pale
Terrible darkness enveloped my soul
The hidden sins that evaded me began to unfold

Can a man hide his soul from God?
Or bear this terrible judgement from the Lord
All my earthly securities dashed now to the ground
This fearful soul could barely make a sound

"O Lord, who are you?"
"I am Jesus, whom you persecute
This day you will obey, this day in the city you will stay,
For how long will you kick against the goads
How long will you disobey?"

O God of heaven and earth
Forgive this sinner, vehemently I prayed
As a dead man I was upon this dirt
"Have mercy on me" is all I could say

"Brother Saul, Paul you shall be called
As Goliath, you have taken the great fall
Truly this is a great lesson taught
Truly as a bird, you have been caught

This day your sight shall be restored
That you may know that He is Lord
No longer will you serve the purpose of mere man
To be a servant of God, that is His great plan."

O Lord, my God
Who am I that you should be mindful of me
A blind man that you have now caused to see
A servant of God, shall I now be
To follow and obey Your heavenly decree
