Great is the power of the Lord;
Mighty in deeds, magnanimous in works;

Awesome in wonder are His ways;
He caused seas to split,
And rocks to pour forth water;

He ravaged the earth in a flood,
And made the Nile bleed;
He led by a pillar of fire,
And a cloud of smoke;

Then He surprised us…

He came as a man;
Not being satisfied as a man,
He became less than a man;
He became a slave;

Not satisfied with that;
He took on the lowest task of slaves;
With all the power to make galaxies,
He washed feet;

If I were to attempt to emulate Him,
Becoming an amoeba would not be sufficient;
It would be blasphemy;

With mundane things,
Water and a towel;
This mighty Son of God glorified His Father;
It showed us His desire,
His heart;

Secure in His deity,
He had no problem bowing down
For those He loved;
This love drove Him
To meet us where we’re at;
His humility is His glory,
And it is our strength;

So great is the power of God,
The menial became our glory;

We need not extraordinary things
By which to glorify Him;
And if we serve with the menial,
We will not faint in crisis.
