Ten Men

Ten stood up straight and were made whole
They could hardly believe their luck
Ten were instructed to go and be clean
To believe was extraordinary, it had to be seen

Ten were radically transformed and changed
To the astonishment of their peers
Ten were shown mercy, goodness, kindness and grace
Ten saw the saviour’s face

Ten with simple faith cried out…
‘Messiah stop, please stretch out your hand’
Ten would put their faith on the line
They would risk failure, and possible sinking sand

Ten boldly went where others dare not
They had nothing to lose
Theirs was a miserable lot!
Ten were not afraid of being mocked
There life was open, like a book
Who would be stunned, and who would be shocked?

Ten directly received the fathers care
Ten undeserving yet they received so much
Ten knew what salvation meant
Ten had felt the masters touch…
Ten found strength to arise and awake
Without doubt, Ten knew salvation was not fake

Of the Ten, one never forgot
Of the Ten, one’s gratitude topped the lot
Nine out of Ten were truly happy to be free
But one out of the Ten, the strangest one of all
Came back and thanked Him incessantly…

Ten lives transformed because He had mercy
Ten lives that represent our own destiny
Without Ten where would we be?
Without Ten there would be no testimony
Ten lives that represent the Gospel
For which we all give thanks
We will always and forever be unreservedly grateful
